This week-end I’ll be attending my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary. Sixty years of marriage. In today’s world, some consider six an accomplishment!
My grandparents appreciate life and all that it gives them – the good as well as the bad. I am blessed to spend time with them during my travels and I can honestly say I am always happier and more fulfilled after my visit. I laugh more and appreciate the influence they have been in my life.
They have been on a journey together for six decades. They have experienced losses in their lives, but have chosen to grow from them and not bemoan them. They have taught me that we can be victims of circumstances or masters of our own fate.
“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that brings you out”
